Momma’s Scrambled Eggs


Fluffy. Light. Moist.

All things I want to experience when I eat some good ol’ scrambled eggs.


These scrambled eggs come from my mother- my wonderful, supportive, and creative mother, who somehow stumbled upon a seriously legit way to cook scrambled eggs. These are simple, but incredibly scrumptious. I’m not really sure where she got this recipe (I should probably ask her in case it happens to be a good story!) but I know that I grew up NOT questioning it, because they are the ABSOLUTE BEST scrambled eggs I have ever eaten. I even got Spencer to come around to it, because admittedly, at first glance, there’s a pretty a-typical ingredient involved: cottage cheese.

Trust us: It’s good.


You know how you go to a brunch buffet and you’re looking at all your egg options and you can just tell by looking at those scrambles sitting in that metal chafing dish that they are going to be just rubbery as all get-out? Well, these eggs eat those eggs for breakfast!!! Actually, these eggs wouldn’t go anywhere near those eggs.


This recipe is exactly as described above: fluffy, light, and moist. The creaminess you get from the cottage cheese whisked into your eggs is absolutely divine. It whips up the eggs and adds an extra layer of flavor that I can’t even describe… they’re just good scrambled eggs! You can always adjust the amount of cottage cheese you add to your eggs but beware: the more cottage cheese you use, the more “wet” the mixture becomes, and I know there are plenty of you out there that would be totally put off by that texture… that’s why we have curated the BEST ratio of cottage cheese-to-egg in our recipe below.


What you will need:

  • Eggs
  • Small Curd Cottage Cheese (Full/4% milkfat)
  • Butter
  • Pepper
  • Salt


Momma's Scrambled Eggs

A new twist on a classic breakfast staple
Total Time 10 mins
Course Breakfast, Brunch


  • 4 Eggs
  • 2 Tbsp Butter unsalted
  • 1/4 cup Cottage Cheese Small curd, 4% milkfat
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste


  • Melt butter in medium skillet over medium heat
  • Whisk eggs, cottage cheese, salt and pepper together in a bowl
  • Add egg mixture to skillet and cook until fluffy and delicious
  • Enjoy!
